Complains of a change in the practice of precedence at court since 1660 for eldest sons of Dukes and warns of its dangers 'if it goes on may bring the Nobility of England into as much contempt as that of France or Turkey'; sets out a full list of precedence.
Unsigned but notes that 'This piece of paper is writt by one that honours and loves the English Nobility and wishes they in their generations may last for ever to greaten the Crown and nation'.
This letter is undated, year given is based on the contents.
