Content DescriptionDiscusses the Prince Electoral [Eugene of Saxony?]; comments on the Queen's fears of 'his perversion to the Romish Religion' during his trip to Italy; asks that Scott speak with the Queen of Poland on the matter requesting that she intervene; instructs Scott to make the same approach to the Electress Dowager of Saxony; instructs Scott to speak with the Poland's Protestant ministers; discusses the severe consequences to the 'Protestant Interest in Germany' if the House of Saxony were to convert to Roman Catholicism; reports that the Queen has already invited the Prince Electoral to England in the hopes that it may prevent 'his change and confirm his mind beyond the impression of any future attacks upon his religion'; hopes that the Prince's journey to Italy is not too far advanced to be abandoned.
