Discusses the attempts of Admiral Apraxin to speak with him on the orders of the Czar; says that the admiral left without doing so and that he cannot understand why; discusses his desire to return home and explains why he feels useless and unable to continue; suspects that Apraxin was ordered to recommend an (English) gentleman whom the Czar wishes to send to England; includes an extract [not present] from a letter to Mr Harley regarding his request to return to England.
