Content DescriptionReports the arrival of Lord Halifax and his comments about Buys' 'zeal for the Common Cause' and desire to 'strengthen the union between the two nations'; says that the treaty for 'guaranting our succession and your barriere' is in the interest of them both; refers to the delay in sailing of the ships commanded by Sir Cloudsly Shovel; a proposed naval campaign which appears to be hazardous for 'so great an embarcation'; explains why the Queen believes the ships would be of most use upon the coast of Spain; has not mentioned this to Mr Stanhope as it requires great secrecy; comments on the alterations to be made to the ships so that they may 'endure the sea later in the year'.
