Copy of letter from Robert Harley [later 1st Earl of Oxford], to Monsieur Buys, 13/24 Aug. 1703; says that the 'preservation of our Civill and Religious Liberty' is the most desirable thing to 'an honest man'; thanks Heaven for the 'Zealous Patrons of true Liberty' in England and the States General; comments on the need to protect themselves and the rest of Europe from the 'Tyranny of France'; speaks of the happiness with which Her Majesty received Mr Franco's report; mentions the attributes of the Duke of Marlborough and the Lord High Treasurer.
