Concerns the peace negotiations; acknowledges Harley's letter of 27 Nov on the subject; comments on the good beginning achieved and his belief that the Allies, and Britain and Holland in particular, will find satisfaction in the negotiations; notes good relations developing between Harley and Buys as a further contribution to a successful peace; thanks Harley for kindnesses on his behalf; regrets his ill-health and wishes him a speedy recovery.
