Content Description
Expresses sorrow at recipient's being 'hurryed by my Lady Portland about Mr D'Allomes rents'; has been trying his best to get the tenants to pay; the tenants are demanding tax allowances for rents under 20 shillings 'according to the Act of Parliament'; as there are not many of these rents, advises that their demands be met; assures recipient that he will persuade the tenants to pay.
Appended draft reply: writes that Mr D'Allome thinks him negligent because the money has not arrived; asks for an account of the tenants' reasons for their lack of payment.
