Content DescriptionWirtes that he heard the news of the peace as he was coming here from Doorwerth; argues that the patriots in that country were not pleased at it, but that all 'moderate' men are happy for change; believes that the present plan for a new constitution is far more acceptable to the propertied men than a constitution which might have led to the return of old men and measures; mentions that he would be happy to serve the duke in any way in Holland; explains that he came there for business and will return to Doorwerth that day; when he returns to England he will wait on the duke to find out what his next task will be, whether in N[ova] Scotia or in England; explains why he might be useful in the latter.
