Refers to he and his brother's claim to full pay in their lives as colonels in the late Irish Brigade; explains that since he made the claim to the duke, he has looked further into the methods of application and has discovered that it is also necessary to memorial Lord Hobart as War Minister; informs the duke he has done so; mentions the distinction between their claim and those of other colonels who raised foreign corps for the service; is confident of the duke's support when their case comes before the council.
