Content DescriptionHas received copy of a letter from Mr Manley's which he wrote to the duke about the enclosure of Hasland Common; reports that the coal here is of a greater value than it has been for some time which is due he thinks to the 'Navigation' and great amount used in the Iron Works; suggests it would be better to have it settled in the country before applying to Parliament; encloses [not present] an agreement he has made for Iron Stone (and hopes for the duke's approval) and suggests this indicates the expense of carrying on the Iron Works.
