Content Description | Orders that the bill should not interfere with the rights of Mr Abel Smith as Lord of the Manor in any way, provided Smith or his heirs assert their claim that they are lords of the manor in law against the Duke of Portland; if Smith is found to be the lord of the manor of Hasland and the land and coal there belongs to him, then the power that was given to the Duke of Portland as lord of the manor will be transferred to Abel Smith; orders that if this action is not taken within six months, or if the courts decide for the Duke of Portland, then Smith and his heirs should be excluded from all rights and titles to the manor of Hasland. |
