Content DescriptionComments that the last account he sent the duke was only from 6 February 1779 and Mr Nicolson's remittance was forgotten; gives account of other money he has received from Nicolson; has paid £200 of this to Mr Bingley; will send the duke the best calculation he can of the debts, but thinks that £5000 should pay off the Duke of Devonshire and all other debts; mentions Mr Speechley's confusion over where the duke wanted the wall built and where he intended the new cottages to be placed; hopes that 2 cottages will be done for £100.
