Content DescriptionReports that the duchess [of Newcastle] has arrested 7 more servants for paying rent to Harley and Mr Soresby for collecting it; they had 3 hours to file a special bail; as he could not find Mr William Thomas, he instead got hold of Mr Thomas Harley of the auditor's office to help him file the special bail before Judge Tracy this evening; regrets the duchess's behaviour and believes that the compliment Harley paid her in putting off the trial will simply give her an opportunity to harass the tenants; clarifies part of his last letter; mentions that Mr Lee desires £20 from Harley which he [Wenman] will pay out of the £109 he has from Mr Dixon if this is acceptable; comments that Mr Lee has paid over £16 for filing the bails; mentions that Mr Auditor [Edward Harley] will be in town this week.
