Encloses a rental for the year ending Lady Day 1736 and a list of arrears at Michaelmas 1735 [Pl C 1/784]; is extremely upset that the arrears are so great; begs to be released from 'so weighty an affair' especially in view of the fact that he is 64 years old; writes that James Langran is renting some land in Orwel and offered to lend Mr Merry £50 upon a bond; reports that the farrier is to purge the Richmond gelding which has either back strain or a cold; has sold 'the Great lame Coach Horse' for £5 10/-.
