Has asked Mr York to draw up a draft lease for William Pluckrose's tenement which will be sent on when ready; reports that the gamekeeper William Gore has died after being blind for a few days; writes that no nurses could be found for him, even those who had had smallpox, so his old mother cared for him; writes that he had a wife and two small children; transcribes an account of the costs of the burial; adds that he was in debt and 'my Lord' [2nd Earl of Oxford] has often been known to bear the cost of funerals; intends to call in the rents on 2 October.
Letter dated August in error: postmark reads '3 SE'.
