Content DescriptionHas left a warrant for a buck for Bishop Sterne at his house as he had gone to York races; mentions that he has spoken to the Bishop about his house at Cockglode the lease of which he was rumoured to be selling; writes that the Bishop said he had not decided but would give the earl first refusal if he did; adds that the Bishop's family are at the house to escape from the smallpox at Aram.

Will call on Mr Porter when he returns to the Park; refers to rumours that Palmer ploughed some of the park and paid tithes to Mr Neale when he was working for the earl, and mentions the views of the Gainsborough attorney Mr Hatton on this.

Reports the death of Mr Green who had leased the Mansfield tithes for four years; writes that his son has not paid yet although last week was the time to do so; lists the price of barley, wheat and rye to illustrate the hardships suffered by the tenants; adds that the tenant of Clipston Warren owes £60.
