Content DescriptionThanks the earl for his letter of support; acknowledges that the proceedings have greatly shocked him; does not share Mr Bennett's confidence that Birch will not attempt the same thing again; has asked Mr Wright of Sheffield for advise on bringing an action to finish the business once and for all, and will also confer with Mr Hutton of Gainsborough.

Asks that Mr Bannister be prevailed upon to obtain a correct parchment copy of the indictment and to send his thoughts on the matter; has taken three ounces of bark and is feeling much better; adds that his and Mr Gace's accounts are ready but not Mr Chappell's.
