Content DescriptionIs in Nottingham for the Assizes and the trial between Birch and the earl's tenant Sales; reports a meeting held the previous night at which Mr Levinz was present; fears that a non-suit might occur for want a deed of Assart, suspecting that the Exemplification of the Forest Claim will not suffice as proof of the earl's ownership.

Reports the jury's unanimous verdict against 'the Villaines' in their case against him [Wenman]; adds that Mr Bennett is intending to call on the earl; refers to Ben Wilcocks' £20; hopes to send his account for £400 since he has spoken to Mr Smith.
