Content DescriptionWrites that Lady Oxford is now to be a party to the proposed Act of Parliament and that she must be made aware of the facts; does not intend to make any difficulties with the other Lords but identifies one point of concern; understands that the lands to which the earl's copyhold tenants will be entitled following enclosure of the commons and wastes are to be held by freehold tenure rather than copyhold and will therefore be freed from the earl's control; writes that Mr Ward considers that the wording of the Act cannot be changed; therefore advises the earl that he should talk with Lord Bathurst about the issue.
