Content DescriptionDiscusses an enclosed letter from Mr Brand about the collars of brawn [not present]; writes that the stone pitching 'in the Front Part' is in a poor state and mentions that he has arranged for a drain to be placed there to get rid of the water; states that Mr Cole is pleased with the plan; requests the earl's permission for it to go ahead and asks that Mr Mist be asked his views; explains how he has drained water away in other places; reports that he is to meet 'Young Holben of Croyden' about him taking Fairchild's farm; adds that William Gore 'has sent a woodcock'.
