Hopes that the earl will visit Wimpole soon to inspect and advise on the works at the reservoir and the old fish pond; discusses the arches on the bridge at the head of the pond; describes further work which he would be pleased to have done; reports that one of the workmen has died; adds that Mr Cole has kept aside some apples for the earl but warns that there have not been many this year.
