Content Description | Writes that Mr Kimpton has promised to pay the £100, and that he insinuated that he might be forced to stay on another year as rumour had it that the farm had not been let; mentions that Mr Brown is likely to be engaged in dealing with Sir John Jennings for most of the week and will not be able to discuss Kingston Wood until Friday; writes that Mr Papworth has asked to be shown the farm when Mr Kimpton has left, but that he wishes the rent to be reduced.
Adds that it is Mr Brown's opinion that Kimpton should leave at Lady Day and that the farm be kept in hand if there is no tenant; thinks that applicants are being put off by the fact that Kimpton is still at the farm; sends the letter along with Charles Gunter who is to speak with the earl and to buy tallow for the candle-making; writes that the wine arrived without harm, and that Barbara wishes to know whether the carpet has come to London.
