Content Description
States that Mr Francis Knight has requested a great deal of wood for mending the 'Iron works of Clypston Forge and Kirkby Furnace' and that the amount should be accounted for at one guinea per ton; adds that Francis Knight is to call on Lord Harley in London and will mention his dissatisfaction with the year's provision of cordwood; supposes that he will ask for financial assistance in gathering the cordwood from disparate places; mentions that Mr Knight's cordwood in Derbyshire is to go to Mr Hayford.
Explains a delay in timber transportation from Stockwith due to the ship needing repair; reports that he has extracted payment from two 'offenders' who have been removing wood from Deadmans Grove, which money shall be paid to those who were helpful in their capture; mentions the news that Lord Harley has restored Joshua Haslam to his former position as wood tender and gamekeeper at Barlow and Brampton.
