Content DescriptionReports that he arrived last night and delivered Harley's letters at York Buildings when he came, and the rest with Dr Stratford's this morning; met Oliver Marten at Mr Morley's Coffee House this morning and discussed with him the affair Mr Dixon was meant to with Mr Minshill; Marten explained how the duchess, by her father's will, had an estate for life and for one child after her; she gave her husband the power to deal with the estate in her lifetime, and after some disagreement, an agreement was made with Lord Pelham; discusses in some detail the duchess's claims with reference to the articles; has spoken to Mr Seale, who received the letter with Lord Pelham's note, and will present the bill to Pelham when he comes to town; writes that Mr Ward's bill is paid, £100 of which he gave to Mr Hayes and £100 to Sir Francis Child.

Mentions an oversight he has made regarding Mr Robert Banks and Mr Soresby; refers to some papers he wants Harley to sign relating to a gamekeeper at Barlow and Mr Charles Smith of Cheadle.
