Hopes that this letter finds him safe in London and in perfect health; reports that last Thursday, Birch arrested the earl's tenant Thomas Sales over a dispute about his rented close and the cottage Birch had already got from the earl; Mr Whitehead is coming to town and will give a further account of it; awaits the earl's commands about the 'Carr', with respect to Mr Johnson.
