Content DescriptionIs glad that the £500 bill on Sam Smith arrived safely and hopes the £250 he is about to send on does too; refers in some detail to the Vernon affair; does not think that Mr Whitehead has omitted anything; explains how Vernon's lawyers have deceived Mr Bannister; transcribes a paragraph from a letter Mr Bannister wrote to Whitehead by the last post, which describes the content of his [Bannister's] meeting with Mr Gill, Mr Lowther's agent; explains how Bannister's letter has affected his actions.

Has met with Mr Brockhill, the minister who serves in the earl's donatives of Cottam [Cotham] and Sibthorpe; explains that the Archbishop of York has told Brockhill that he immediately needs a nomination from the earl for a license or he will be suspended; does not know of any precedent for this; draws a parallel with the earl's donative of Marylebone and asks for his directions.
