The records cover all of the firm's business, not only that concerning the Portland family. The records include items relating to the Duke of Portland's estates (in Aldrington, Derbyshire, Northumberland and Nottinghamshire), and the Howard de Walden Marylebone estate. The matrimonial affairs of Victor ['Bill'] Cavendish-Bentinck, the future 9th Duke of Portland, also feature.
