The records include items relating to the Duke of Portland's estates (in Aldrington, Derbyshire, Northumberland and Nottinghamshire), and the Howard de Walden Marylebone estate. The matrimonial affairs of Victor ['Bill'] Cavendish-Bentinck, the future 9th Duke of Portland, also feature.
Arranged in chronological bundles Y1-Y269 for the period 31 July 1939-19 Sept. 1940; Y270 is for part of Dec. 1940; Y271 contains only stray diary entries and cost sheets for Aug.-Sept. 1939, and Y272 the same for Apr.-June 1940.
