Content Description
Includes copy of grant application to the Medical Research Council (MRC) dated 29 May 1978 for a project entitled 'NMR Whole Body Imaging' (applicants Dr Peter Mansfield and Professor Rex Coupland); letter dated 26 July 1978 from the MRC to Peter Mansfield confirming that the application had been successful (albeit for a reduced period of two years and one month rather than the three years originally requested); letter dated 7 August 1978 from the University Business Manager to Peter Mansfield asking him to confirm that the amount and conditions of the grant were acceptable; letter dated 9 August 1978 from the University Assistant Business Manager to Peter Mansfield confirming some details of the grant; letter dated 21 September 1981 from the MRC to Peter Mansfield listing some equipment which was on loan to him and asking him to confirm that the information was correct; MRC booklet entitled 'Project grants: Purpose of scheme and conditions' dated 1975.
[The grant application includes some background to the project, and indicates that this latest grant was a supplement to an existing large project grant made in 1977 to develop whole body imaging techniques.]
