Content Description
Image shows a half length portrait of the 1st Duke of Newcastle under Lyne and the 7th Earl of Lincoln wearing brown coats, seated at a table drinking wine.
Original artist unknown [School of Sir Godfrey Kneller], c.1721; date based on that of another version of the painting in the National Portrait Gallery.
The Newcastle portraits were given to the University in 1991; they hang at various locations; the image ctalogued here is from a copy print series made in 1992.
Access is granted to the copy print only.
