Three quarter length portrait of the 1st Duke in ceremonial dress as the Lord Lieutenant of Nottingham, sitting in a chair; based on an earlier painting by William Hoare.
According to a caption beneath the main image the engraving is 'from the original of Hoare in the collection of His Grace the Duke of Newcastle'.
The date is based on the life dates of William Holl.
Dimensions: 18 cm X 12.5 cm [print size].
Dimensions: 37.5 cm X 27.5 cm [size including border].
Attached is a bill of extraordinary expenses from Colonel Elizeus Burges, His Majesty's resident at Venice dated 10 January 1733.
