Three quarter length portrait of the 1st Duke wearing the ceremonial dress of the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire; the duke is depicted sitting in a chair with one hand resting on his leg and the other hand outstretched; a plume of feathers can be seen in the background; based on a painting by William Hoare.
