Content Description | The letters refer to the enclosed photocopies of agricultural scenes from an original sketchbook by an unknown artist, 1842-1844, which Hoskins hoped would be given to Bromley House Library.
[The artist has since been identified as Emma Wilmot, née Darwin (d 1898), wife of Edward Woolett Wilmott, agent to the Duke of Newcastle. The original sketchbook is (in 2009) still in private hands. Further copies of the sketches may not be supplied without the permission of the owner.] |
