| Admin History | Little is known about Honoria (Norah) Frayne beyond what can be ascertained from the contents of this collection. She was born in the Shardlow registration district in late 1905, and entered the School of Nursing at Nottingham General Hospital, aged 20, on 1 November 1926. According to her training record (Uhg/T1/1) she was living at 69 Wilsthorpe Lane, Long Eaton, and had been a millinery assistant. She completed her training in May 1931 and went into private nursing. The Nurses Memorial Home at Nottingham General Hospital, where she lived during the period of her training, had opened in 1923. She married Henry Brittle in 1933 and lived in Nottingham. |

| Description | The collection consists of the following items:
Student notebook of Norah Frayne, with the title 'Nursing and Hygiene' written inside the front cover. Contains dictated notes on various aspects of nursing, marked and corrected in red pen. Corrections are dated November and December 1926. The first six pages comprise a dictated copy of the Rules of the Nottingham General Hospital Nurses' Memorial Home (MS 805/1);
Programme for a Grand Bazaar in aid of Nottingham Children's Hospital, 1901 (MS 805/2);
Mounted black and white photograph showing three nurses and a surgeon attending a patient lying on an operating theatre bed, captioned 'Ear Nose and Throat Theatre - me on left', n.d.
