Admin History	This is an artificial group, consisting primarily of newsprint cuttings relating to D.H. Lawrence and his life and works. These were assembled at different times by a variety of people. News cuttings which naturally belong within a larger archive group have not been moved to join the La N group, but can be found in their appropriate context (see e.g. within La Z).
Custodial History	The items in this collection do not have a single provenance but have been acquired by the Department over the years through various donations. The material continues to expand as new items or groups of cuttings are received.
Description	The group is divided into several series, reflecting different sources and the interest of different collectors. News cuttings within the series have been extracted from a range of newspaper publications and other sources, and brought together by different collectors. There is a focus on local, Nottinghamshire material and Lawrence's biography. They also reflect changing views on Lawrence and the reception of his work. The cuttings include articles and reviews.
