|Content Description||The genealogical papers mainly relate to the Atkinson, Standish and Holden families and, in addition to pedigrees, there are several drawings of the Holden arms. There are also genealogical notes relating to the Millington family from whom the Holdens acquired Felley Priory, Nottinghamshire, as a result of the marriage of Thomas Holden of Aston, Derbyshire (1680-1726) and Elizabeth, daughter and co-heir of Gilbert Millington of Felley.|
Genealogical notes about the Trotter family are also present: Rev. Robert Holden (1853-1926) married Alice, daughter of John Trotter of Dyrham Park in 1880. The series also includes many letters of Rev. Robert Holden relating to various genealogical enquiries.
The pedigrees of families such as Ayscough of Nuthall are probably present in the archive as a result of his research upon the parish of Nuthall, and there are further notes on this family at Hn X 6/1-7. The papers also include a number of newspaper cuttings concerning the death and funeral of Colonel Robert Holden (1805-1872).
