| Admin History | Sir Andrew George Buchanan was born 21 July 1937 and succeeded to the baronetcy in 1984. Educated at Eton, Trinity College Cambridge and Wye College London, he served in the Coldstream Guards before managing the estates at Hodsock in Nottinghamshire. He moved into Hodsock Priory after buying out the life interest of Mary Constance Mayhew, sister of Charles James Buchanan in 1966. He became High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1976 and has been Lord Lieutenant from 1991. In 1966 he married Belinda Jane Virginia Maclean and they have two children. |
