Content DescriptionInforms him he was entertaining the Queen of Holland and states he had visited her in The Hague on several occasions since his departure from that post; reports that he expected Princess Mary and her children and the Duke of Edinburgh [later of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha], who were all coming to see the exhibition; reports the Emperor of Germany was due to visit Vienna that month and that he [Buchanan] would then be free to join Andrassy in Budapest; reports that Esterhazy was due to call to pay his respects to the Queen of Holland; lists other recent visitors including Charles Villiers [the M.P.] who had returned to deal with his interests in Wolverhampton, the Duchess of Manchester and her daughter, the Duchess of Hamilton.

Reports that he had read Longworth's despatch concerning Serbia and that the Austrian reception of Prince Milan had been criticised at Constantinople.
