Writes in response to his complaints about his situation in The Hague; asks why he took a house which he had never seen and how Lord Napier could 'have lived in such a hole'; he and Mrs Hankey hoped to visit him in Holland; states that he was writing during a Diplomatic Service Committee [meeting] which was dragging on and had seen Mr Locock and Mr Julian Fane; informs him that he was due to attend a meeting at Lord Derby's and that he hoped to see Florence [Buchanan] in the near future.
