Content DescriptionRefers to orders given by the Prince of Orange to the 'résident des Etats Généraux' [?] to communicate 'le secret que vous scavez' to Guldenstolp [Gyldenstolpe]; expresses his concerns in view of the grand chancellor Oxiensterna's dislike of Gyldenstolpe and his attachment to Count Lindenschilt [Lindsch"ld]; comments on their attempts to [cultivate] Oxiensterna, noting that he is well disposed with regard to their interests.

With the exception of a few short phrases, the letter is written entirely in code; this is deciphered in Japikse 'Correspondentie van Willem III en van Hans Willem Bentinck, Eersten Graaf van Portland', No. 24 pp. 140-141, and the summary given here is based on this.

The letter is signed by Danckelmann, but is not in his hand.
