Content DescriptionAcknowledges receipt of his letter of 6 Aug. and enclosures from Celle; reports the comments on the treaty, noting that it had been hoped to provide for the transport of troops without money in view of the Elector [of Brandenburg]'s affection for the Prince of Orange, but that M. 'F' [Fuchs?] had given the reasons this could not be done; refers to the march of troops from 'C... et W...' [Celle and Wolfenb├╝ttel?] through [Brandenburg] and to the [Elector's] troops; reports that the treaty itself cannot come until the following post and gives reasons; states that M. 'F...' [Fuchs?] will return on Friday morning although the troops have already begun to march; refers to efforts to be undertaken on M. 'F' [Fuch?]'s return in relation to Sweden and Denmark; for the rest, hopes that everything will go according to the wishes of the Prince [of Orange].

The letter is dated 'mercredy 1/11 d'aout 1688'.
