Content DescriptionReports on the situation in Exeter and the loyalty of the aldermen; observes that Francis Braynes, about to be elected Mayor, was the only inhabitant of South Gate Street without illuminated windows on the choice of an Emperor; informs Dicker that the aldermen have ordered both Papists and Methodists to take the oath as it is feared they are disaffected; urges that the Lord Lieutenant should be present and that an association of gentlemen be raised 'we are all here and throughout the County in a State of Inactivity'.
