Admin HistoryThe British Radiofrequency Spectroscopy Group (B.R.S.G.) was established in 1956 to provide a forum for physicists to discuss their research into various branches of radio spectroscopy. The Group maintained an informal structure, combining forces only occasionally with other associated bodies. Its meetings were organised by local members in various locations and with a minimum of administration. Despite the Group's title, its mailing list included many scientists from abroad and in 1975 it met in Paris.
Custodial HistoryThe greater part of the records were transferred in 1981 by the Chairman of the B.R.S.G.. Additional material was subsequently acquired in 1983 from the Group's Secretary.
DescriptionThe collection includes papers relating to the Association of British Spectroscopists to which the B.R.S.G. was affiliated, and papers relating to B.R.S.G. committee meetings. Material relating to the group's conferences includes books of abstracts of the papers presented.
