Content DescriptionResolves that the Earl of Lincoln be nominated to represent the burgh in the event that William Baird Esq. accept the Chiltern Hundreds; says this was moved by the Duke of Hamilton; expresses their support for Sir Robert Peel's free trade policy; does not wish to interfere in the arrangement between Lincoln and Baird, as they both support free trade; says this is no indication of support of Lincoln's 'general politics'; resolves to put forward the free trader Mr Wilson of Dundyban at the next election; explains the conditions under which they accept Lincoln as their candidate.
