Content DescriptionComments on the opposition in the agricultural association, which he will attempt to diffuse; quotes from a letter from the duke in which he vows to oppose Sir Robert Peel to the utmost, saying that 'no ties of blood will form an exception'; discusses the vehemence of the duke's opposition to Peel; has told the duke that after years of acting as Lincoln's electoral agent he cannot in good conscience decline to do so again; reports the duke has declined Gladstone's application for support and that Gladstone did not seem to expect it; thinks that Lord Charles will be asked to step forward; discusses the consequences of the county losing both Lincoln and Gladstone'; asks after Lady Lincoln and 'her little boy' [Albert].
