Date Of Creation29 April 1837 (c)

Content DescriptionComments on the desire of constituents to see the 'candidates for their representation', especially when they are as popular as Lord Lincoln is; thinks the appearance of 'one of his brothers' would be welcomed by the constituency; requests that the duke send a letter directing him to make it public that one of his sons will visit; thinks that this combined with the promises of support from the Duke of Portland and Lord Middleton for Lord Lincoln and Colonel Rolleston would result in Denison retiring from the contest; says that the cause of Lincoln's absence [illness of Susan, Countess of Lincoln] is 'well known'; thinks the harvest will be a good one; comments briefly n an 'awkward' case against the Poor Law Commissioners.

Letter is dated '29 A. 1837'; contents suggest this is April rather than August.
