Content DescriptionVolume containing an account of the origins and early history of the Willoughby family, drawing on extensive collections of records in the family library at Wollaton Hall, Nottinghamshire. Cassandra Willoughby, later the wife of James Brydges, 1st Duke of Chandos, was the daughter of Francis Willughby (1635-1672). The majority of original materials used by her in this history have not survived.
