Date Of Creation12th century-1926
Access ConditionsSome of the bundles have suffered very extensive physical damage and a few are still unfit for production, pending conservation.
Content DescriptionThe series is described as 'later deeds', in distinction to the extensive series of medieval deeds in the collection (Mi D). In fact, although the majority of the deeds in this section are post-Henry VIII, the original parcels and bundles which refer to particular properties occasionally include much earlier material. The content of the bundles is not limited to records of title, but occasionally includes rentals or other financial papers, surveys and maps, correspondence, and other documents associated with the subject of the bundles.
ArrangementThe bundles have been arranged by county, and then in chronological order. In some cases loose single documents have also survived in the series, and have been brought together occasionally in artifical bundles.
